A new Nintendo Switch 2 is only as good as what you put on it, and the library is already deep. These are the best games we have played and reviewed that run on the console, ranked by our scores. Whether you want a genre-defining epic or something to unwind with on the couch, start here.

Elden Ring (9.3)

The genre-defining open-world action RPG, and one of the best games of the decade on any platform. Enormous, punishing, and endlessly rewarding. If your Switch 2 can only hold one giant, make it this one.

Hollow Knight (9.3)

A near-perfect metroidvania and one of the best-value games in the medium. Its only barrier to a flawless score is the same deliberate opacity that makes mastering it feel so earned.

Hades II (9.2)

Supergiant's roguelike sequel, deeper and bolder than the beloved original, with magick-driven combat and peerless craft. It suits the Switch 2 perfectly for short, brilliant runs on the go.

Resident Evil Requiem (9.1)

A masterful, genuinely frightening survival horror game and a fitting series high point, and a real showcase for what the new hardware can do with atmosphere and dread.

DELTARUNE (9.0)

A funny, warm, mechanically inventive RPG with era-defining music that keeps reinventing itself. One of the most distinctive things you can play on the console.

Hollow Knight: Silksong (9.0)

The long-awaited Team Cherry sequel: gorgeous, enormous, and superbly designed, with faster combat and reinvented movement. Harder than the original, and proud of it.

Stardew Valley (8.9)

The definitive cozy sandbox, deep and endlessly replayable, expanded free for years. The ideal handheld game, and arguably better on Switch than anywhere else.

Devil May Cry 5 (8.8)

One of the deepest, most satisfying combat systems in modern action gaming. If you want pure stylish spectacle on the go, nothing here hits harder.

How we picked

Every game on this list is one we played and reviewed ourselves, and the scores are our own. We limited it to titles we can confirm run on Switch 2, and ranked them honestly by our review scores rather than by hype.
