Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 Remakes All Hit Switch 2 on October 16
Capcom is putting three of its best modern remakes on Switch 2 in one go, just weeks before Resident Evil Requiem.

Capcom used the September 9 Nintendo Direct to confirm that the Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 remakes are all coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16, 2026. The three games launched over the previous years on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox to strong reception, and this brings the whole modern remake trilogy to Nintendo hardware on the same day.
What is included
These are not bare ports. Capcom confirmed the Switch 2 versions bundle previously released add-on content, including the Deluxe Edition extras for Resident Evil 2 and the Gold Edition content for Resident Evil 4, which folds in the Separate Ways DLC. The one catch worth flagging up front: the Switch 2 releases are digital-only, so there is no cartridge option announced for the trilogy.
Why it matters
Getting RE2, RE3, and RE4 portable in one drop is a strong pitch for Switch 2 owners who skipped them elsewhere, and RE4 in particular is one of the best-regarded action games of its generation. It also sets the table for Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom's next mainline entry that is also headed to Switch 2, so Nintendo's console is about to have a deep Resident Evil bench. We have reviewed these remakes on other platforms, so the real question is how they hold up in handheld mode, and that is a job for hands-on testing after October 16.
