Monster Hunter Wilds Brings the Hunt to Switch 2 on December 4, Ascendance Included

This is not a stripped-back port. The Switch 2 edition ships with all previously released title updates already included, and it adds local play so two players on separate Switch 2 systems can hunt together offline. Crucially, Capcom confirmed the Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance expansion arrives on Switch 2 the same day it reaches the other platforms, so the portable version is not left a content cycle behind. Early looks suggest performance is stable, with the expected trade-off of lower resolution on the smaller hardware.

A mainline Monster Hunter you can take anywhere has always been a system seller for Nintendo, and Wilds landing on Switch 2 with its expansion in lockstep is a stronger offer than a delayed, cut-down port would be. It also continues Capcom's heavy investment in the platform. We have not tested the Switch 2 build, so the open question is how that lower resolution feels in motion during long hunts. The date and the feature parity are the confirmed wins today.
